Denton County Master-Planned Town
Welcome to Providence Village, a Denton County master-planned town of lakes and trails along the U.S. 380 corridor north of Dallas.
Providence Village is a town in Denton County, Texas, situated along the U.S. 380 corridor in the northern reaches of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, near Aubrey, Little Elm, and Frisco. It is one of the region's newest incorporated municipalities, built almost entirely as a master-planned community. The town's origins are unusual. Providence Village was developed beginning in 2000 through the Denton County Fresh Water Supply District Number 9, a special taxing entity created to fund the infrastructure for a large-scale planned community. As the community matured and its population grew, residents sought greater local control, and on May 8, 2010, voters approved incorporation, transforming the development into the Town of Providence Village. The built environment reflects that planned origin. Roughly 1,700 homes, many in Cape Cod and Craftsman styles, are arranged around a network of lakes and green space, with Lake Providence — a 25-acre centerpiece — anchoring the community. Miles of trails, two swim parks, sports courts, playgrounds, and Providence Commons give the town a resort-community feel, with HOA-managed amenities at the heart of daily life. Education is split between two districts. Areas north of Fishtrap Road are zoned to Aubrey ISD, while the southern portion attends Denton ISD schools, including Providence Elementary and Ray Braswell High School — a division that makes school attendance zones an important consideration for buyers. The town's location on U.S. 380, with access to the Dallas North Tollway, Interstate 35, and Sam Rayburn Tollway, connects it to Frisco, Denton, and the broader Metroplex, while Little Elm and Lewisville Lake sit nearby. Providence Village suits buyers who want newer, amenity-rich, master-planned living in North Texas, families weighing the two school districts, and commuters seeking a suburban base along the fast-developing U.S. 380 corridor.
