West is a city in McLennan County, in Central Texas, situated along the Interstate 35 corridor about 21 miles north of Waco. With a population of 2,531 at the 2020 census, it is a compact small town with an outsized cultural identity: West is home to one of the largest concentrations of Czech Texans in the state, a heritage that shapes the community's food, festivals, and everyday character.
