Lantana is an upscale master-planned community and census-designated place in unincorporated Denton County, Texas, about eight miles south of the city of Denton. It was originally developed by Republic Property Group, with the first homes built at the turn of the twenty-first century; the early neighborhoods of Larkspur and Sandlin established the community's template of planned residential villages arranged around shared amenities.
