Hurst is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, located in the Mid-Cities region between Dallas and Fort Worth. Its population was about 39,750 at the 2020 census. Hurst is one of three communities — along with Euless and Bedford — that form the Hurst-Euless-Bedford (HEB) area, a distinctive suburban corridor that grew up between the region's two major cities. Hurst's development accelerated with the construction of major regional anchors. The Northeast Campus of Tarrant County College opened in 1968, the North East Mall followed in 1972, and the opening of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 1974 transformed the Mid-Cities into one of the metroplex's most accessible suburban areas.
