Denison sits in far northern Texas, in Grayson County, about a mile south of the Red River and the Oklahoma state line, in a region known as Texoma. It is one of the two principal cities of the Sherman-Denison metropolitan area, paired with its larger neighbor Sherman just to the south along U.S. Route 75.
